Adam Corner at 324 Lavender - Prata + Teh Review
I usually pass by Adam Corner @ 324 Lavender whenever I’m heading towards Kallang or City Square via Lavender Road. The shop sign has caught my eye a few times — looked like a proper tasty mamak spot.
You know how some places just look like they serve good food?
Today, since I had to head over to Musa 24 Hours Printing nearby to collect my name cards, I thought why not take my mum along and finally try breakfast there.
A quick Google search, and I saw it had pretty decent reviews on Burpple and Foodpanda. That gave me hope — maybe it’s more than just a nice-looking stall from the outside.
Getting There
Kempas Rd is just beside Adam’s Corner
I came by motorbike, and at first, I was a bit worried. There’s no dedicated parking for motorcycles along the roadside near the kopitiam. But luckily, there’s a nearby BTO multistorey carpark along Kempas Road, and I managed to find a few empty slots. If you’re coming by car though, good luck — even at 11am, the parallel parking lots were all full. I can’t imagine how packed it gets during peak hours.
My Mum!
It’s about a 3-5 minute walk from the carpark to the restaurant. It was a warm morning, and the weather didn’t help. The kopitiam setup means there are ceiling fans, but don’t expect them to beat the heat. Still, if you're there for the food, you can tahan a bit.
The place isn’t very big — more like your typical corner kopitiam stall — but it has enough tables.
What We Ordered
2 egg onion + 1 plan prata
I ordered:
2 Onion Egg Prata
1 Plain Prata
1 Teh Tarik
Mum went with:
1 Egg Prata
1 Iced Bandung
Total damage? Around $11+ — pretty reasonable for a hearty breakfast for two.
A glass of Teh Tarik
A cup of bandung
The prata was actually really good. Freshly made, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. I personally like mine with fish curry — I know it’s a bit sour, but I enjoy that tangy aftertaste. My mum, on the other hand, prefers dalcha.
Unfortunately, the dalcha at Adam Corner was a letdown. It tasted a bit burnt and had that overcooked vibe. Quite disappointing, especially when the prata was so well done. The dalcha kind of pulled down the overall experience.
The Drinks
Now the drinks were a pleasant surprise. Mum’s bandung was just right — not too sweet, not diluted either. My teh tarik had a nice balance as well, with enough foam and not overly sugary.
Honestly, I’d recommend the drinks here. Especially the teh tarik — perfect for those who need a little mood booster after a long day. And since the place is open 24 hours, it's a good spot to chill anytime, even for a late-night lepak.
Overall Thoughts
If this place were nearer to my work, my meetings, or if I did delivery jobs around Lavender, I’d definitely come by more often. The prata and drinks alone are worth the trip.
But that dalcha… really pulled the experience down. If not for that, I’d rate the visit an easy 8/10. For now, I’ll give it a 7/10, with hopes that the bad dalcha was just a one-off.
Still, I’m glad I finally gave it a try — especially with my mum, who also enjoys great-tasting mamak food. Sometimes, it’s not just about health or macros. It’s about comfort, shared memories, and just enjoying simple food that warms both your stomach and heart.
